Ultimately, the best dental filling is no dental filling. Prevention is the best medicine.

You can dramatically decrease your risk of cavities and other dental diseases simply by:

Dental Cleaning

One of our dental hygienists will perform a routine, professional cleaning, thoroughly removing plaque and tartar from your teeth and gums, promoting overall oral health by preventing cavities and gum disease.

Dental Exam

Dr. Brunet will complete a thorough examination, screening for cavities, gum disease and oral cancer. She will review your radiographs with you and is happy to answer any of your dental questions. Dr. Brunet enjoys educating patients visually with photos and models.

Radiographs

Radiographs, aka “x-rays”, are a necessary tool to help your dentist identify problems, such as: cavities, impacted teeth, dental infections and cysts. They can also help detect bone loss, cysts or other abnormalities that may not be visible with the eye in a clinical exam. We utilize digital technology and minimal radiation to capture these images. Fun fact: you get more radiation by living in a brick home or from your cell phone than from our dental x-rays.

Sealants

Sealants are a protective coating applied on the deep grooves of your teeth which prevent tooth decay for many years. They are most effective when applied to the back teeth soon after they come in. Sealants are a quick procedure and have no known side effects.

Composite Fillings

After Dr. Brunet removes decay from your teeth, composite filling material is used to fill in these areas. We utilize the most up-to-date material, resin, that is a safe and aesthetically pleasing option for repairing cavities, as they closely match the natural tooth color and bond directly to the tooth structure.

Crowns

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap that is placed over a damaged or decaying tooth. It serves as protection for the remaining healthy portion of the tooth and can help prevent further damage. A crown promotes longevity for a tooth. We fabricate our crowns with a material called Zirconia (a type of ceramic). This material is very strong and all white in color.

Extractions

When the tooth is no longer able to be saved, tooth extraction offers several benefits. Most importantly, it reduces harmful bacteria that can damage your teeth and gums. Left untreated, a decayed or damaged tooth can wreak havoc on your smile, causing a domino effect of problems. Removing your affected tooth gives you the best chance for optimal oral health. We do offer extractions at our office; however, there are times when we recommend patients to have the tooth removed by one of our oral surgeons that we collaborate with.

Root Canals

Root canal treatment is a dental procedure to remove inflamed or infected pulp on the inside of the tooth; the tooth is then carefully cleaned, disinfected and sealed to keep the bacteria out. Root canal treatment is designed to eliminate bacteria from the infected root canal, prevent reinfection of the tooth and save the natural tooth. We do refer our root canal patients to a specialist, called an Endodontist. They have gone through extensive training in this area, have 3D radiograph technology capabilities and microscopes to get the procedure completed.

Teeth Whitening

We offer take-home whitening options for the patient, as we found these to be very effective and the sensitivity much less than in-office whitening procedures. Ask us about our whitening options, and we would be happy to show you our menu of options to get your teeth whiter!

Dental Bridges

If you’re missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. Bridges can help restore your smile and bite. Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth and literally “bridges” the gap where one or more teeth used to be. This is a permanent solution to replace a missing tooth.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a common surgical tooth replacement option. They provide support for artificial teeth like crowns, bridges and dentures. Dental implant placement may require a few procedures and several months of healing. But once an implant heals, you can use it just like a natural tooth. With proper care, your implant can last a lifetime. We collaborate with an Oral Surgeon for this process to place your implant, and Dr. Brunet will restore the implant with a connector and crown.

Veneers

Veneers are thin, custom-made shells designed to be permanently bonded to the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance. They can address a variety of cosmetic issues, such as stains, chips, gaps, or slight misalignments. Veneers are typically made of composite resin or ceramic, with ceramic generally being more durable and stain-resistant, while composite veneers are more affordable and can be placed in a single visit.

TMD/Jaw Discomfort

Dr. Brunet will evaluate your TMJ pain and help guide you with recommendations. Whether it starts palliative to alleviate pain. She will also assess whether you may benefit from a night guard or rather refer to a TMJ specialist/Chiropractor/Massage therapist/Physical therapist.

Fluoride Treatment

It’s been an essential oral health treatment for decades. Fluoride supports healthy tooth enamel and fights the bacteria that harm teeth and gums. Tooth enamel is the outer protective layer of each tooth. Fluoride is especially helpful if you’re at high risk of developing dental caries, or cavities.

Pediatric Dentistry

All ages are welcome at our practice! Every child is unique in their own way. We will evaluate their dental conditions and treat them accordingly. When behavior is not cooperative for dental treatment, Dr. Brunet will refer your child to a specialist in pediatric dentistry for treatment with a type of sedation.

Emergency Dentistry

Dr. Brunet specialized in sports trauma while in school. She served as the team dentist for Ohio State during her schooling. Dr. Brunet will evaluate all types of emergency dental to assess if this is something that can be treated at the office or referred on further to a specialist. If after business hours and Dr. Brunet cannot be reached, please visit your local ER.

Periodontal Disease

Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, is an infection of the tissues that surround and support your teeth. It can lead to bone and tissue loss, and if left untreated, can cause teeth to loosen or need to be extracted. We will evaluate your gingival conditions and determine the best dental cleaning and treatment for you.
